Author description

LANCE AKIYAMA is a lifelong tinkerer and a magician at creating contraptions from cardboard, sticks, rubber bands, and tape. Since 2010, he has focused his talents on developing original hands-on engineering projects and founding The Workshop for Young Engineers (thewye.com), a project-based after-school enrichment program. He is also a featured author and teacher on the educational website, The Instructables, and is the lead science curriculum writer for Galileo Learning, an educational summer camp that focuses on coaching and inspiring the next generation of innovators. He lives, works, and creates contraptions in San Francisco.
