He was just a wet behind the ears twenty year old kid, who was finishing off his last year as a diesel mechanic's apprenticeship, and still living at home with his loving mother and abusive father. The kid had robbed, borrowed and saved to buy himself a black and red Triumph Bonneville motorbike. She was a young lass who lived all alone and pumped petrol for a living down at his local service station. Then one day the young man pulled into her servo for a tank of gas, and she asked him if he would take her for a ride on the back of his bike. These two young naive lovers, ride out through the Adelaide Hills on the very steep and windy 1960's Princes Highway. They stop in at the Eagle on the Hill Hotel for a cosy drink and chat. While they are sitting in front of an open fire place soaking up the heat, he laments to her how his life is destine to be lived on the wrong side of law. How he is a very bad man and one she really should avoid at all cost. He would only be a bad influence on her. He goes on to tell her, that he is only here for a good time, not a long time, and how he will most likely end his days in a horrific motorcycle accident, while on the run from the law, or gunned down in a hail of bullets, as a harden bikie criminal should be. Then fifty odd, black and chrome motorcycles rolled into the hilltop hotel's carpark, shaking its very foundations.
